Travel Assistance Program

Purpose

As part of the Faculty Development and Enhancement initiative, tenured or tenure-track faculty may receive travel assistance if they are presenting at a conference.

Program

The Travel Assistance program is now offered semi-annually.  Faculty who are selected will receive up to $1,000 for travel assistance if presenting research findings at a conference.

The call for Spring applications will begin January 14, 2019.  Applications are due Friday, February 1, 2019 by 5 p.m.; award notification will be made by mid-February.  Conference travel should take place between February 1, 2019 - June 30, 2019. The next call for travel will be announced in the summer semester, awarding travel funds for conferences taking place between July 1, 2019 - September 30, 2019.

Criteria for Selection

Due to the tremendous response this program has received and the limited resources available, there have been some additions to the selection criteria.

Applicants must:

  • Be accepted to conference (include proof of acceptance with application)
  • Be tenured or tenure-track full-time faculty
  • Be senior author
  • Be a national conference presenter (priority); international conference travel requires additional justification.

Preference will be given to those who are able to secure any matching funds from their department or college and have not received Travel Assistance funding during the academic year immediately preceding the application cycle.
